Whip Information

Here are some common questions and information on our whips and whips in general

How do I measure a whip?

Different types of whips are measured differently. Sometimes the handle is included in the measurement and sometimes it is not.

The graphic below explains some of the more common types and how to determine their length.

How is a whip made?

Most of my whips are made using a series of braided layers (bellies) wrapped around a central core and then covered in a decorative overlay.

The number of bellies depends upon the type of whip being made but a traditional bullwhip will have two bellies and a braided overlay over a weighted core.

This graphic should explain the anatomy of a whip.
